Portrait Drawing ...

I enrolled in a portrait drawing class at the Torpedo Factory Art Center. The first week we worked on two poses with charcoal. I love charcoal because you can begin a charcoal drawing by erasing. Its just an easy, fun medium, and very forgiving. The second class was this week and we were told to use pencils. I was annoyed with our model because she kept talking to our teacher. She must not have realized that talking makes your mouth move. Aside from that she had a good face for drawing. When she wasn't talking, she was smirking, which i found pretty cool to draw. That little thing on the right side of the womans face is where my teacher showed me how to shade the nostril, its not a butt or a bird.
